This is Nathan Kim, coming to you almost halfway through 2023, with GREAT NEWS!
KASTRO 2023, San Diego is now officially OPEN for registration.
I am beyond excited as we are anticipating a fantastic meeting once again. Beyond the outstanding program, the outrageously generous educational travel grants, and the camaraderie of the US and Korean/International attendees, our firm belief is that KASTRO will once again be great, because of YOU, the members who attend. Each and every one of YOU, who are part of this organization breathes and renews life and character to KASTRO each year, as we continue to not only survive but thrive, and as we make lasting memories (“Choo-UK”). Simply put, YOU make KASTRO great!

There has been an infusion of energy into the organization, in large part due to the increase in resident and young attending interest in being active in new KASTRO initiatives. As we start to return to a new normal after the COVID-19 pandemic, KASTRO is looking ahead to a great year. We hope to continue our trend of growth with the guidance of our longtime leadership.
KASTRO 2021 Recap
The 2021 KASTRO annual meeting was a great success, after a year apart due to the pandemic. Held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood and Steaks restaurant in Chicago, IL, we had great attendance and participation led by Drs. Sara Kim and Isabelle Choi. We had impressive presentations by the Resident Travel Award winners for 2021.

I would like to invite submissions of abstracts for KASTRO’s annual U.S. resident/fellow travel award to ASTRO / KASTRO2019. The travel award to the ASTRO / KASTRO 2018 meeting will be $1000 towards travel expenses and a certificate. The recipient will present the chosen abstract at the KASTRO dinner meeting on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 6 pm in Chicago, Illinois. …

This past year has seen a significant transition and growth for KASTRO. With 501c nonprofit status, KASTRO was able to raise over $17000 in total donation for 2017, our best year yet. We increased resident and non-resident membership, continued our support of resident education with 2 travel grants and held our 2017 KASTRO meeting at the nicest venue yet in Parq restaurant in San Diego (find pictures at link). We have added 2 new board members (Drs Isabelle Kim and Dan Kim) and named a new president, Dr Sara Kim. …
